Hi Team!!!
« on: April 28, 2012, 08:39:18 AM »
Well at the age of 29 I just bought my first off roader in the shape of an E reg landy 90 Yeay

Bought it from dundee and drove it all the way to Helensburgh where I'm at, for a 2.5 td it sat at 60-65 no problem

Took it over shandon 4x4 yesterday after 1 day of owning it and have cought the bug I want more.

As I know nothing about Landys but eager to learn

The problems are so far

Clunks when letting clutch out, Sounds as if it's coming from the rear?

Temp guage doesnt work and so far as far as I'm aware just a little TLC is required.

Now just trying to google search places to go around helensburgh green laning or abit more challenging stuff does anybody know of anywhere if they don't mind me asking and is it ok to post pics of my Landy as I can't stop smiling  :) :) :)

Good luck with it!

The clunk could be http://www.repairmylandrover.co.uk/defender-repairguides/a-frame-balljoint-renewal
If it is I'd be tempted to get an LR specialist to fix it.
The one on my disco was gone (as is the vehicle now ;)) and I just thought it was the natural clonking of an LR 4x4 system ........... got it fixed at http://www.gemm4x4.co.uk/ what a difference! At Gemm they may well diagnose the clonk just by listening to it as they did for me.

What is it they say about Land Rovers? Ah yes - always sick, never dead! Still, they are more fun than any other vehicle you will ever own. And more annoying.

The Navy chap in Helensburgh is Lenny at  http://www.lcsengineering.co.uk/ and he doesn't just break Land Rovers, but makes a jolly good job of mending them, too.
