Brake warning light coming on

When I go up & down steep slopes the brake warning light on my dash comes on, on the flat it extinguishes. The fluid level is well up toward the max so is there a problem with the brake fluid reservoir sensor?

Does it monitor another level. Clutch?
Is it the RR or 90

Have you checked hand brake sensor is not loose

Errrr No! but I will check, I still get the usual two red lights on the dash when the hand brake is on. It has been suggested that maybe the pads are getting a bit worn, but why then would the light come on only on slopes and not when I brake on the flat? As far as I know the car is still running on its original pads and disks as I don't recollect having new ones fitted in the 11 years I have owned the car. It's going into GEMM for a look at shortly so hopefully they will find something.
