Has anybody got a diagnostic tool to that will give some indications to the fault with my 110 TD5?

- It got a bit wet, and when started this morning it wouldn't rev. Dried out plugs arond the ecu with the wifes hairdrier, but now it's struggling to start.

I'm Dalry N. Ayrshire.

Take the ecu out and stand it up on it's sockets over a warm radiator. You might be lucky!

How wet?

I saw an article in one of the mags about some TD5 defenders that went wading, turns out the accelerator pedal got wet and caused something similar to what you are talking about. the accelerator pedal is apparently a potentiometer... nice under water.....not!

check you dont have water in your fuel....

It has "methods" 

Remove Ecu lid to dry out. I agree with the accelerator potentiometer post would try drying out or try out
a friends but check they are the same as td5 used two types . I used Es altenators in kirkintilloch for Ecu problems but u need to hav truck there to investigate.

When I lifted the seat the water was just below the ecu. We un-did the plugs at the time and they did look dry. Throttle box was well under water. I dried the plug, but not sure how to remove the pediometer - any ideas?
Wouldn't even start this morning. As if it's imobilised???
Drained some fuel off from the filter, it looked ok.

Wishing I took the series now. you could rip out all the wires and it would still go.

Not good Ruari. A friend flooded a TD5 CSW in an Icelandic river. The first thing the hire company did was stop £7000 on his plastic to cover repairs with the line "...these things are not insured for off-roading."

You'll not want to hear that it ended up costing him £2500 for parts and labour. 
 

Is the fuel pump still priming on turning ignition on ? Does pressing the throttle pedal up and down a couple of times bring the engine management light on and bring pump on . This mite prove if Pedal is working . There
is not much in removing the TPS multi plug and two bolts and try drying out you can then use a
Multi meter on resistance scale and prove the pedal works as u depress depending on which pedal is in td5 the resistance will go down while the other side will up in resistance if it's a two track TPS

Yep fuel pump runs when ignition is clicked. Pump the pedal 5 times and fuel pump runs through it's priming sequence.
Managed to borrow a Sealey diagnostic tool. Heres hoping it's compatible.

U will be lucky td5 is a bugger to get diagnostic equipment for only hand held I hav used was hawkeye borrowed from Lenny at  Lcs engineering but good luck
hav you checked all the sensor multi plugs are not wet like crank position sensor on bell housing or maf sensors

In a word no. But keep it coming and I will tick em off. Tried a Sealey diagnostic, but its not compatible. Unfortuantly this will need to go on hold as being sent abroad for work. Back late Saturday and in the office sunday, so I need to scrounge a day off to get under the bonnet or / and get a bigger garage she will fit in.
