Looks pretty good and sturdy, doesn't seem too badly priced - any thoughts?? Pro's / Con's

Fitted one to my last Defender and quality was very good.  Don't know if they make different faceplates - I bought mine at Billing at a discount because they made it for someone who had an odd sized CB and didn't take it.

I didn't have a CB so had a space I didn't need.

Downside is that you have to cut the centre of original dash to fit it, so it means you can't take it out later.  Still a worthwhile mod though for extra switches and guages.

Another option is the MUD console, not quite as bling but still pretty good and still have to cut the dash. I have CB and Radio and still plenty of room for gauges and switches.

I'm on my second mud console now and really like them. A doddle to fit, a nice size and looks almost factory.

Cutting the slots out for the head unit and carling switches can be a bit tricky but its worth it

Graham.

I your passing pop in and have a look at mine. I would highly reccomend the raptor console. Its very versatile as you can cut the panel to suit. If your plans change you can cut a new panel out of 3mm Ali and make cut outs in it to suit what your needing in your dash.

I had issues fitting mine but I think it was because I have a TD5 and the cable channel in the rear of the dash is larger. I had to cut the rear of the new dash to fit. Other than that its was no problem.
Im still adding to it and find that there is loads of space for fitting cables relays and so on.

Cheers

I took the plunge and got one.  I'm in wiring heaven now ;)

I'll take the hacksaw to the original dash tomorrow - If it goes well I'll post some photos.

If you don't hear from me it's a bad sign :'(

haha good luck... I had to take the grinder to mine to fit the mud console - and it's half the width!

I'm pleased to say it went well - probably only half an hour to fit the actual dash and several hours wiring and swearing.  Not got much happening on the switches yet but plans are afoot.

The Furry Dice was the first and frankly most important mod I did to my Defender 8)
