Newbie saying hi.
« on: October 03, 2011, 09:16:32 PM »
Evening all. Just thought I'd say hi.

I've recently bought my first Land Rover, a Disco 3 SE - and boy what a car!! Unfortunately due to the length of my daily commute I don't get to drive it all that often  :(  so it's essentially my wifes car  >:(

I am keen to get involved with the green road runs and some of the tamer events - TYRO's and RTV's and of course the banter!

Gordon

Hi Gordon & welcome!  Top motor the Disco so enjoy.  You're probably right re. the events you might get involved in.  My recommendation is to get along to spectate some of the other events too - trials are great to watch & learn from.

Hoping to meet up with you at a forthcoming event.

Alan.

Hi Gordon

I have a D3 as well. You missed a good day out yesterday on the GRR at Aberfoyle! Pretty tame and good for a D3 if you dont want to cause too much damage. They an be an expensive beast to put right if you break anything.

It's a great car, I've had mine nearly 4 yrs and wouldn't change it for the world. Enjoy, hope to see you at the next outing!

Look out for a silver D3, photos on the link below!

Cheers

First weekend of November I think is the next event you may want to enter.

Hi guys,
Thanks for the warm welcome.
I noticed on Sunday afternoon the GRR at Aberfoyle was going on....gutted I missed it.

Stephen, are you on DISCO3.CO.UK? I am on there as D3G. The Disco is a 2005 SE, manual in Tonga green with orange DISCO3.CO.UK sticker on the rear window and round sticker on the windscreen - give it a flash if you see it. The misses will wonder why people are flashing at her  ;D

I'm not usually one to cover my car in stickers but I feel different about the Land Rover - somehow I think I should be showing off my club and forum memberships. So is there a SLROC sticker I can buy and display?

I see its Mudmaster this weekend - I can't make it but is this the type of event you can spectate? I'll try to get to the next Tyro on 6th November, see what it's all about.

Gordon,

Yep, I'm on the Disco3 forum as well, StephenO on there as well (keeps it simple).

I have the stickers as well, I'm always in the Glasgow area, you'll probably pick up stickers a the the next event or I've been told you can contact Gene on here to get some posted to you. Their only a couple of quid.

I can't make Mudmaster either but will probably be there on the 6th, don't know all the details yet though.

I'll look out for you mate!

Thanks Gene,

I got some at Bathgate but I would like an external one for the tailgate, it's the one with the vehicle & SLROC on it - do you have any?

Cheers
