Ok, so, Im doing the rounds at the minute looking for a TD5 just above or below the 3k figure.  I have seen a number that have had more hits than Oasis and a few more with some quirkies:

-  Damp or wet front driver and passenger carpets (assumed leaking sunroofs??)
- oil /water leaks (whats new)
- Stick back doors, again whats new
- Chassis weak or needing welded

One I looked at, was ok, but the ACE dashboard light was lighted all the time and covered with some tape.  I am told that it had the Air Suspension removed and this was the result of it using springs (very cautious about this)

Is the above right and what other things should I be looking for?

Ahwrite Paul ya hoor ye!!!  lol  paul, have a look in the disco2 boys club in the tech section, it covers most points in there, there a few good one's on the go, but you need to find them, is there not a g4 for sale on the forum??

Here's my list -

brake pipes
chassis rust
door latches
fuel pressure regulator
suspension air bags
rear window wiper motor
auto box sluggish
leaking sunroofs
hubs
rear demister
leaking fuel pipe above fuel tank
starter motor
PAS box

There is probably more, the above is over the last six years.
So apart from the above they are ok.

The ACE is a completely separate system to the air suspension (SLS) so the removal of the SLS would not cause the ACE warning light to be on.  Are you sure it was not the SLS light that was on?

Chassis rot on pre `02 plates, something to do with maufacture, I`m sure I heard that land rover took the company that made the pre `02 chassis to court due to this.

Cheers everyone, was able to pick up a nice 51 plate Auto ES today, in really good nick.  Get it home to play, hopefully tomorrow. 

Had the Autobox and Turbo changed last year, full spec with sat nav and electric everything.  Went through the usual checks and all looks good.

TD5 side steps, roof rails and nudge bar/a frame along with double britax warning beacon, if anyone has lying spare?
