defender salvage
« on: February 07, 2011, 09:45:33 PM »
I have been searching the internet trying to find landrover salvage yards.

Have been looing for a damaged defender as It would probably be the only way of me affording a land rover that doesn't need major restoration.

Any help would be appreciated.

Easier to find rocking horse poo, painted with tartan paint hanging on a sky hook.

Very hard to come by and when you do find one they are almost as expensive as a non-damaged car - due to Defenders being made of meccano they are easy to repair!  Most are repaired and then sold as CAT C/D's.

Speak to Equicar or http://www.landroversalvage.co.uk/ (no experience of the latter) or Lix Toll used to do a bit up your way.

Yeah I thought that.  Lix toll don't sell and if they do it is for top dollar.

They have a rake of customers landy's out the back to get re-chassised and they can lie for years and still never want to sell them or give you details of the customer who owns them.  I tried equicar and again they still are a fortune or royaly humped.

Think I might have got a landy now bit of a fixer upper but a good one.

But thanks For the reply dude.

There's normally a few on ebay that are damaged repairables, at worst it would give you a few more places to try

Try CWS4x4.co.uk    They are way down in Englandshire, BUT they are a registered salvage yard.

Just a thought.
