Engine convertion Questions.

Hi
Looks like im gona do the TDI swap into the 110 sooner than expected.
I have choice of 200 or 300tdi.
What i wana know is can i use the 19j engine bellhousing on either of the mentioned TDI engines so i get a factory fit to my lt77 gearbox that has a disco transfer box. Wana avoid missing bolts etc read it wastes yer back crankshaft seal due to flex.

Series III, naturally asthmatic, turbo diesel & tdi's all have the same bolt-pattern for the bell-housing.

Make sure the clutch is the right one (spline-count), but the 200 & 300 are essentially the same on that front.

all but the early 300tdi engines require electonics, making the swap less pleasant.

engine mounts are different 200 to 300.... and you can mount a 200 onto the same mounts as a 2.5 diesel.

You'll need the intercooler, radiator & pipes for whichever engine you put it - they are all different

You'll need the exhaust pipe for whichever engine your fitting, that are all different.

Thanks for the info wanted to make sure befor i attempt this. The 300tdi is a early one sounds more tempting if little electrnic fiddling is needed.
Got a straight through downpipe for the 300 if that goes in on new mounts.

ive done this converision on my 110 with a 300tdi fits like a glove your welcome to have a look anytime am in penicuik take the flywheel houseing of 19j and fit to 300 you need modify this abit i still have the template i used for mine your welcome to borrow it   dave

OO that would be great if i can have a good look at ur convertion think ill drop in the 300.
200 a straight drop in job so better suited for my unweldable galvi chassis 90.

HI DONE A 200 TDI INTO MINE OVER A YEAR AGO ALL WORKING WELL. THE CLUTCH PIPE HAD TO BE MOVED OVER AS TO CLOSE TO EXHAUST,HAD TO TAP HOLES IN BELLHOUSING,HOLES WERE IN CASTING BUT STUD POSITION WAS DIFFERENT,SOME ALTERATION TO PIPEWORK USEING RADIATOR AND INTERCOOLER FROM DONNER ADAPTING BRACKETS ALSO,AM OVER GOREBRIDGE WAY FAIRLY REGULARLY SO COULD ARRANGE A MEET. CHEERS PADDY.

Thanks for the reply. Im gona drop the 200 in my 90 but id still like to just ahve a good look at evryhting so i ahve a failry straight forward idea of whats happening.
The 110 going to the garage this week if i try fix it again im gona thump hell out of it with a sledge hammer lol
