instrament panel lights
« on: December 13, 2015, 07:47:58 PM »
Ok guys here goes having serious problems with these lights . Looks like at some point the wrong wattage of bulb has been fitted resulting in the holders melting to a unusable condition .

Do I have to replace the gauges or is there a fix for this.

Any help would be much appreciated as not knowing what speed you are doing in the dark is quite of putting. Oh yes its a 1990 defender standard gauges.

Thanks Bill

Hi Bill

Durite do a rubber push in holder that I've used before that just splice onto the the original bulb holder wiring.  Dingbro in Stirling keeps them.  See the e-bay link below for picture and availability.  You might have to wrap ome inulating tape around to take up the pace if the green ineset ha broken away

mine were the same, all now stuck in with hot melt glue, peels off easy if you need to change them
