Disco 300tdi Oil light

Just done a long run in my disco yesterday to find out that the oil light comes on when i had the revs below 1000.
Check the oil after it had cooled down and that is at the right level. Been for a short drive today no light.
Any idea on what this could be?

could the oil be the wrong grade and going thin with the heat?
i would change the oil and filter at the earliest oportunity anyway

I have been using the same oil for years, but i'll give it a go
