DEFENDER TYRES

Hi All
More help required
i am looking some advice on tyre choice  i am looking for some advice on road tyres  to go on steel wheels the size of the mt on the rims is 750-16

I believe the equivilant size 235 85 R16

235s are roughly the same height as 7.50s, maybe a cm or so taller depending on make - but they are a lot fatter, several inches wider.

The maths is that 7.50s are "square" - 7.50 in high and 7.50 in wide.  The Metric 235/85s are 235mm wide and 85% of that high so...

235mm = roughly 9.5 inches wide.
235mm x 0.85 ratio = 20 Cm high or roughly 8 inches high.

( checked against the 7.50 General Super All Grips on the lightweight and the 235/85 Michelin Scorpion Muds on the 90)       

If its not broken you are not trying hard enough....

i was trying to find some thing more workman like may be a truck tiers  or some thing, i have a set of off road tires on other wheels i am looking for some thing for day to day towing ect and the 285 s just seem too wide on a rufty tufty 110 they may well look the part on a disco but not the look i am looking for .

Many road bias tyres but I personally would pick General Grabber TR they were a OEM fitment and a quick search on eBay normally shows up a set of four or five part worn  http://bit.ly/1d0Zc7L
