It depends on how exactly one reads the rules.
I'd hope a 2" lift doesn't rule out a vehicle from RTVs :)

I remember one of the competitors with a Disco being advised that his cranked rear arms weren't legal for RTV's about three years ago.  He withdrew from competing...

Funny enough I just tried the search function to look to see if this had been discussed before.   It has, a Mr Buffalo Bill asked this question in May last year

Seems to be a touchy subject sorry memory won't take me back 18 months ! Just looking for a yes or no didn't mean to ruffle anybody's feathers with a  simple question.

And there is no problem either way as he can use my 90 if it's against the rules was just looking for some clarification. Sorry if I've caused an upset

Kind regards Bill

I've just looked back I asked about 2"lift kit not cranked arms

Can't he just compete in whatever the class was for nil points? As long as he is happy being in this class I suppose.

It's not a touchy subject ,Bill.   I was just trying to find information about your question.  I searched and found your old post.  The reason I found your post was the reply given by Alan A

"No problem with a lift kit, only issue is if it involves cranked radius and trailing arms, but longer springs and shocks are OK"

Or have a separate class within the RTVs for cars outside the rules eg cranked arms/locking difss etc?

i think the point is being overlooked .the club is run under the wings of the alrc and as such members have to adhear to there rules or there is no cover for entrants. cranked trailing arms locking diffs and dumper tyres all give an advantage over others also the club has been fairly lax in applying alrc rules i can remember 4 nuts holding a wheel on an exhast pipe as a bumper and crossply tyres when radials should have been fitted.
it is up to the committee (pilot custard being one) to ensure the correct running of the club. i can see the argument for both sides the purists or rivet counters on one side  and the other it is still a land rover.
and the organisers do they let them enter and pay there money or turn them away and run events at a loss .
