Viscous fan issues td5
« on: May 03, 2013, 07:22:31 PM »
Tried removing td5 viscous fan as the coupling had started to collapse cause fan to damage cowling luckily not damaging the radiator or hoses, got a replacement fan and got a fan spanner to remove it . I didn't know I needed a special tool to hold the pulley as it just spins when I try to loosen the fan does any one have one to borrow or know of a way getting it off without one .

Hit the nut on the fan with a punch catch it on the edge of the flat it should slacken off with a few sharp chaps
