Head Light power
« on: January 03, 2013, 02:18:26 PM »
The headlight bulb on my 110, td5 has decided to stay on. So at the moment i need to whip out both fuses, when leaving it.
I thinking either a sticky relay or faulty switch. Not had a chance to  look at diagrams or the switch stalk.
Any body come across this before  or any ideas?

Happy New Year to All

Hi Ruari

I'd be inclined to replace the stalk - simple, cheap and it completely cured my S3 of its reluctance to switch between high and dipped beam. If it doesn't cure it ... well, hey - at least you know what it isn't!

The headlight bulb was the sidelight bulkulb, not dipped beam or full deam. But te wee outer side lights were off  :-\
Anyway, drove home and it fixed itself. Must be like one of they smart cars  ;D

Dont know if Land Rovers do this but they are about the right age.

Parking lights work with the indicators, with everything off and the keys in your pocket, left indicators left on and the left side sidelights stay on, right for right. Im now going to check and see if the Disco does it.
She said at my age I need something else to play with

Ruari, did your 110 have dim dip headlights,ie the headlights themselves would be on at a low setting when the sidelights were on. Mine are controlled by a dim dip relay YWC 10050 behind the speedo binacle, currently bypassed as relay went faulty keeping dipped headlights off.

I thought there must have been a relay. It's all working ok , so far to date.  Thanks for the part number.
