freelander td4 oil leak,

hi all, hope someone can shed some light on this problem had a freelander with an oil leak today, after a good look around i guessed it was the sump pan gasket. so i fitted a new one only to discover it was coming out the dip stick,, looks to me there is backpressure?? the car is a 2004 model and only has 50,000 on the clock, and ideas?? thanks.

petrol/diesel?

compression test next  to determine if its the top or bottom end causing it , petrol head gasket very common failure

Hi. It's a td4. Diesel. I'll book it into the garage for a test then. Cheers. Lol gene. If it was mine I would gladly take your advice. Sadly I can't.

all sorted now,, the cause was a blocked crankcase filter/breather.. also the egr valve was full of gunk as was the inlet manifold ect.. all on a motor with 50,000 on the clock,. thanks for the advice..

Lol lol the temptation was there but i resisted glad someone had a dig though its only polite to do so. Fairplay its ok though........for now  ;D

Do freelanders have engines? or do you just spec the rear badge when ordering  ;D
