Its got to be an electrical problem rather than a plumbing one so annoying rather than a drama ?

Good luck with the MOT.

have you had the gauge working already since you changed the engine,
i had this issue 2 weeks ago, the info i had said that the temp sender was the same between disco and defender 300tdi engines, they are not , disco sender has a green end , defender one has a black end, theres lots of info on the web about gauges not working etc.
i ended up buying a new 52mm gauge and sender kit from ebay and replaced both, it reads actual temp not just an indication
300 should run at 95c

That looks a good piece of kit and cheap. driving it back from mot station and lights/fan/dash lights/ all flickering with every bump. Bad earth is defo problem i think will find out at weekend as all mot work is getting done then(bring on the good weather). This 110 is my roadgoing one so is a 300tdi original. the other one is still sitting on drive looking sorry for its self.

Thanks Bill
