In the summer (yes that sunny day in june) whilst fitting my homemade snokel to my 110 i had the brilliant idea to remove the fan from my heater box and binning it so i had space for the snorkel.

as you will know its starting to get rather chilli in the morning and its going to get a whole load worse!!

Anybody aware of decent 12v heaters ?? or any other suggestions (apart from slapping me!)

I asked this recently and the general concensus was that they are all more or less useless in a Defender

Wabasto diesel heater would be the best way to go, although they can be expensive

The 'kit car heater' plumbed into the coolant system is a good economic solution to heating a cab.
They are designed for open cockpits,
plenty of hot water flowing around when the landy engine is up to running & up to temp.
No added expense & you can still have your diesel heater if you are runni8ng a diesel or carrying it in your petrol engined vehicle

i have an eberspacher diesel heater in mine which is magic but they are a bit tempremental, mine is an ex ambulance one with relay controls, the newer ones have electronic controls that need dealer facilities/computers to work on

you also get a choice of fuel if you buy a new one they are not all diesel.

I had a heater in a previous 110 CSW, came from an ex BT transit luton type van,was LPG,mounted it under the middle row seats and ran it off a small cylinder fitted in the back.

Im just in the middle of building a 110 for myself just now which iv got some snow clearing lined up for in the winter . The thought of going back to a defender for the winter after having a disco for so long is a bit hard to think about when u compair the heaters. My answer was to take a discovery heater box strip out the blower motor and matrix and mount them in a box shaped as a cubby box with a bits and bobs tray on the top and plumb it in with T pieces on the standard heater hoses. Finshed  the basic box last week and plumbed it in  and im well you could say not feeling to bad about sitting in a defender in the snow niece and toastie.

Thank you all for the replies and suggestions I bought a 12v ceramic one from eBay.. Heat is great fan is lacking.
