Under chassis protection / bash plate
« on: October 05, 2011, 09:06:34 PM »
I'm in the process of getting a series comp safari racer back up and running. It previously had two thick metal bars welded to the gearbox and bell housing cross members (I'm guessing) to hold a bash plate, these were pushed in damaging the cross members due to impact. Is there a better way to fix a bash plate, I'm looking for ideas and hopefully as there a a few still running out there pictures of how other people have them attached so I can copy  :) . By the looks of what was damaged I need something that will cover from the sump to the transmission brake. What?s best for the actual plate aluminium or steel and what kind of thickness.

Cheers
Luke
