For sale section
« on: September 20, 2011, 05:06:42 PM »
Just a gripe!
why do we allow adverts in the for sale section without prices.
for me there is nothing worse than people trying to shift parts or motors but asking for offers.
can it not be made a condition of the sale section that a price must be included with all adverts or the advert will be removed?

rant over  ;)

Well sometimes you have parts for sale, and like myself you are not sure what they might be worth so putting them open to offers seems to me sensible,

Hi,

I have bits for sale at the moment and have now added a price and location.

If i am looking for too much will i scare away a potential sale?

I found the new value on line and adjusted price to suit, but my opinion on the condition will vary from other opinions so they are more of a guide price.

So how about a guide price instead of a set price?

I think when comes to buying or selling on a club site any regulations just seem like big brother ,got something to sell see what you can get for it ,whats wrong with that

Ebay seem to have made quite a living out of selling stuff without a set price. You pay what you think something is worth. In some parts of the world (even Scotland) the barter system is still alive and kicking so I don't think we need get up tight about the odd item on our club website?

Please don't encourage more rules and give us any more stuff to keep an eye on!

I've no problem with "offers" - things are worth different amounts to different people at different times and one mans gold-dust is anothers junk. If you really want an item then you'll not be embarressed to make an offer of what you thinks its worth - meanwhile the seller can enjoy the flood of phone-calls from chancers, their call !

Not putting a location or contact details is just daft and hard-luck on the seller for not being more organised.

If its not broken you are not trying hard enough....
