Wiring a radio in def'90
« on: July 13, 2011, 03:03:31 PM »
what do i need to do to wire/install a am/fm radio into my defender 90.  i already have a CB radio fitted, with ariel and speakers, but ive been told that a CB ariel can not pick up am/fm radio signals for music etc, and that ill need a new ariel, but ive also been told that it can, and i can tune both radios to the one ariel. :S can any body give me some clarification and advise, please. :)

thanks
jack

the plug on the end is totally different too

I'm sure you can get a kit for wiring in a radio if the car didn't originally have one

It is posible to buy a splitter from cb specialists that split the signal and leave you with the right connections. I got one from thunderpole for about ?15 but it really didn't work very well. It may be ok if you have a long whip but my 3 foot one was rubbish. Do you want to try it out?
