How soon do you need one? My neighbour probably has one, would be the end of next week before I can check though :-\

Is the main jet pumping fuel? Fuel pressure good?

we bypassed the fuel pumt to get it running so only used a hose and funnel so maybe its needing pressure? i think the main jet is fine, i stripped it twice as it was full of white wax.

Hi Jon,
Are you getting full throttle on the carb, I found the linkage a big bit sloppy for my liking so converted to cable.
Does the webber have a fuel return line? and what webber is it ie from a 2.5 or aftermarket 2.25 or an old ford.
I might have a spare alternator, do you need one with a lucas clip or is it bolt on wires?
cheers.

Hi mate. It's a Lucas clip on the altenator. The carb has no return line. It's been on the series fit a long time so I don't know if it's a replacement. It's a 2 1/4 and I belive it's a genuine fitment. That would be great if you have one. Thanks for the advice.

Hi Jon.

I take it its a single choke replacement and not a twin choke?
Ill have a look to see what alternators I have, I know ive got 3 but need to see if any are lucas plug.

I have been very keen to go on the drive tomorow and would have met up with you there but we have just lost my sister so im spending time with dad at the mo.

Ill get back to you shortly.

Cheers.

Drew.
