best place for timing belt kit

best place for timing belt kit

looking for a timing belt kit for my range rover classic tdi 2.5 phoned my local motor factors and were wanting ?90 plus vat is this price bought right ? used to buying car bits just thought it was a bit pricey

Not sure what version you have but I am thinking ?90 is a bit dear so I had a look on the bay for you.... see here -

cheers for the info guys the parts person on the phone sounded confused said it was a chain at first  ???  how do you tell if its a 200tdi or a 300tdi ? bit confused with this all new to me

I aint sure how to tell in a RR, age might be the easiest way, Discovery's had a face lift about 'M' reg and thats when the 300tdi started.
I might be way off with this, lol, someone a bit more clever than me might be along with a definative answer.

i think the easiest way to tell is a 200 has 2 vee belts and a 300 has a serpentine belt also a 200 reqs the water ways split and the 300 doesnt

am a right in saying this is a 300 tdi as the dipstick is at the front of engine ? as the 200tdi are on the side up from exhaust manifold ?

just found the torch it has 2 belts just a want to get the timing belt kit orderd tomorow so a get it for the weekend

I use LR Series for most bits now. They give you pattern or genuine options with the parts and the patten ones are not blue box.

got it all sorted orderd a modified kit as the guy asked if it had been modified or standard as a dont no he said the kit would fit either of  was only ?5 more saves sending anything back and having my range rover in bits for a week all in ?63 so wasnt to bad
