what radio
« on: January 20, 2011, 06:22:21 PM »
As the title, what sort of radio do you guys use for comms when out in your Landy's? Is it standard CB or something different.
I am thinking about gettng a CB for the Freebie for use when out out with the club on Green Road Runs and Driving Days and recently read a post on here about someone getting a radio then having to sit exams which lead me to think that it must be more than CB......
Any advice appriciated.

The post was maybe mine. I'm getting an amature radio set up. This does require and exam for the licence. C,b's are great for grr's but they are limited in there uses. It all comes down to what else you might want to use it for. Good luck.

Cheers for that Python, I think it was your post m8.
It's mainly for banter and keeping in touch with others while out on GRR's and driving days, and mainly then for 'help I'm stuck, lol,  I dont really expect it to get much other use.
Thanks for the input, CB's are relatively cheap and if there are others in the club using them then I think it will suffice.

Hi. I'm sure there are plenty on here who have c,bs so it probably the best set up for what your going to use it for. Check out thunderpole and I think 4x4 cb. Loads on eBay too. I would always recomend you buy new so you get a warrenty and you know no one has been playing inside it.

Jon,
If you are using 4 x 4 CB or Eleven ? there is a discount for Response members if you check the National web site it gives details of the discount code you need.

i use a Midland CB and find its best bang for the buck, I used to have a President Jackson II but sold it its a bit pricey and for the cost Midland gear is bang on.
