well i have done it, finally got around to ordering my new radio. i got a Yaesu FT-2800M Heavy Duty VHF FM Transceiver. i dont know much about them but i have heard they are good, ill be doing my exam as soon as a date comes up.  ;D

Looks like a nice little rig... Good luck with the exam... Let us know when you're on the air.

I use a Yaesu FT-8100R dual band Mobile rig in the car, and a Kenwood TK-2170 (PMR) handheld for VHF portable

Great. Will do mate and thanks. I thought hard before buying it. It looks like it will do everything I need.  ;D

Great Jon, you are on your way and have a reason to do well and pass.  You can, of course, fit the radio as soon as you get it so that you can use it as a receiver.

Thanks. Hope I get it soon. Damn royal mail is still not working right. Been waiting on a parcel since before Xmas. Will post up when I have it though.
