Right then, I have decided, well the finances have decided, that I will be doing the head gasket on my freebie myself..... I put a bottle of K-Seal in it just to keep it going through the bad weather before I put my Laguna back on the road, which BTW seems to have stopped it using water.
Anyway, my question is this, I have read that i will have to get the head skimmed, which we can do at my work, but I am usure of how much to take off..... Is it that I am taking enough off to make sure that the head is completely flat or as I am fitting the modified 2 layer steel gasket I have to take more off to allow for the modified gasket?
?
And, would it be advisable to fit the modified thermostat while doing this or just replace the existing thermostat?
Any thoughts, or advice would be appriciated guys.
