Anyone got a 2005, early 2006 Disco?  How much Tax are you paying?  I understood that cars post 1st April pay tax based on emissions and that us LR drivers would end up paying ?400+ per year.  For that reason I have been telling my better half she could not change it for a newer Disco 3 .....  I was surprised to hear that cars registered from 1st April 2000 but pre end march 2006 are actually paying ?235 per year, much the same as I am paying now. Any one know if this is true?

Definately band K (?245) for a Disco 3, I run a March 2005 one, the magic date is to be registered before 23 March 2006, otherwise you take the full hit.

?400+ a year though......that's pretty offensive isnt it!!

I pay ?400+ for my Defender TDCI 07 and as far as I know the intention is to harmonise the charges so I stay at the top whack and the rest creep up to meet me.

buy an early series land rover and you wont need to buy tax 

Would love an old Series, my Dad and I restored the 1948 Series 1  Chris has, (at least I assume he still has it) I cant convince my wife to keep our 300tdi Disco so don't fancy my chances convincing her to go to an old Series.  I have the V5 (and rather allot of rust) for a 2 door tax exempt Ragie, sadly you cant MOT or drive rust! Onward and upward??
