Royal Mail 90's 6 of them! where are they now?
« on: July 07, 2010, 11:40:31 PM »
I was looking at a photo of 6 Defender 90's, taken when they were about to go into service from the Royal Mail workshop at Grangemouth. Being J reg, would be in 1991,probably sold off after about 6 years.
The registrations were J478,479,480,481,482,483 FSR.   They were all 2.5 NA diesels, panel sides, the main identifying feature being the roof colour was the same red,not cream.
Anybody know if they are still around?

478 is now green
479 is now white
480 is red
481 is red
482 is now black and has a VIC marker
and 483 is red and unlicenced,

i used to work for royal mail and im sure that they send them to auction in england when they are finished with them.

Royal Mail vehicles are sent to wilsons auction at the end of there service, depending on the vehicle there length of service varies, Royal MAil currently use Ford Rangers, thou i did see an H-reg 90 in york last year at there sorting office.
