Can anyone help, need a steering wheel puller
« on: July 14, 2010, 06:58:07 PM »
Hi guys

I need to re align my steering wheel, does anyone have the puller with the 2 bolts that screw into the wheel plate? It is the same type of wheel as a Ninety/One Ten, maybe some of the early defender Tdi's.

Should just be a 10minute job hopefully, beer tokens available!

cheers
Steve

Have you tried the block of wood and the heavy hammer.

Slacken the nuts to almost off, then hold the wood against the wheel and give it a smack.
The nuts that are still there will stop it flying off and hitting you in the coupon.

Thats how I got mine off the 90

I use a bit of flat bar with two holes in the right place and 2 long bolts - works everytime with a little tap with a Tool Fine Adjust (hammer).

Hi guys

Thanks for all the replies. No not tried the block and hammer, worth a go though!

failing that.....

Truckster, when are you passing Kinross? I am here Sunday and evenings next week, away on Friday though.

Mac, what thread of bolt do I need? Presumably they are imperial?

cheers
Steve
