Welcome to the forum.
You have several people on the forum in your area.
Jay (Jamie) is in Glamis.

There is a very good Land Rover mechanic up in Edzell if you ever need something.
Sam @ McKays Garage.
There is also Martin 'land rover doctor' out at Lochside farm.

I will leave someone else on here to help you with the problem,
i am sure that someone will be able to answer your question, as i dont do diesels
Or very much else.

Sadly i dont do land rovers either now, my one left last night
& its strange feeling not having one parked outside.
have fun
george
No need to be stuck for long.

if the glowplug is broken it will possibly ground itself and cause the wire to melt, best thing to do is to replace the glowplug.
also check the gauge of the wire to the glowplug, it should be quite large to handle the current.

with the oil, is it an oil bath air filter you are talking about?
if it is then perhaps your timing is out and some compression is coming back up the air intake.

if you are talking about the dipstick tube (or rocker cover holes), then you could have blowby in the pistons, which is a whole other kettle of fish to fix....

cheers,

Stephen
