Gene

There's one on e bay but there's only 5 hrs left on it, there's also one other, but there both down south

I'll be buying a 109 ex military later this week and am likely to break it, but don't know if the diff is the same - condition unknown, but believed to be low mileage

Duncan, Thanks. I think he is watching Ebay, I know he missed one by a few quid over the weekend. I said I'd ask on here in case someone has one at the back of the shed ? ( Or between the rear wheels of one  :D ).

If you can obtain a drum braked Salsbury all the disc brake parts can be swapped over, hubs, stub axles, shafts, the caliper bracket bolts on,I have done this already when I had my 1987 110 V8.

Thanks Colin, I'll pass that on.

If a Salisbury proves too elusive whats involved in swapping a standard LR axle in ? Would he need both front and rear - mounting issues ? Prop shafts ?

All 90/110 axles should be 3.54 ratio,a 109 is normally 4.7, a 90/discovery disc braked axle would fit but you would need a longer propshaft, plus the rear springs on a 110 are larger diameter. My present TD5 110 has a Land rover rear axle with a short diff (compared to anything else), the diff is apparently from a P38!
