So continuing on with my V8 conundrums. A short time ago I ran the V8 88" at speed around a neighbours field and it went well and never missed a beat. Today I attended a trial and the V8 took the huff, didn't like going slowly, wanted to stall, surged and eventually conked out. Upon trying to restart it from it's conked out state it sounded like a flat battery. Let it cool down a while and although rough it started and battery sounded ok . Didn't want to risk doing it a mischief so reluctantly loaded it onto the trailer. Once home and after persuading it back into life I ran it at a fast idle for a while and it settled down to a luvvery idle.
Cooling system is all new, twin electric fans kick in and keep it all cool. Wondering if the Edelbruck carb is to blame and fuel is getting to hot, what would my best option be if I replaced it or am I best to stick with it?
