Hi niel
I used one a few times for Landy weekends ,really fast to set up comfy and ideal on roof up out the way
Would of used it a lot more if I could of talked "ere indoors" into climbing the ladder.
Got one on eBay a German manufacturers really good for the price not thousands either like these favoured ones

Have got a Howling Moon with awning on my Disco.

Have used them in Africa and Europe with lots of success.

Have to bear in mind that once its up you can't move the vehicle.

The weight is not inconsiderable, a lot more body roll.

I have up rated the suspension to cope with the increase in load, its a bit harsh when the tent is not fitted. I generally take the tent and rack off for the winter.

Lots of different types around, depends how much you are going to use it and in what weather.

If you want to look at sometime let me know, it will be back on for Easter.

I got one last summer and still to use it.
I fitted it when I got it and it really changed the handling due to the extra weight up top.
To be fair I do have a 2" lift and running 33" tyres.
It can only be a handful

I too removed mine over the winter period but got a couple of trips planned for this year, looking forward to getting some use oit of it.
