LR90 Rear Disc Brakes
« on: September 07, 2015, 08:53:45 PM »
Hi
I am looking for some advice on rear disc brakes

I have a 1990 LR90 200Tdi with rear disc brakes, which I presume came off a Defender 200Tdi and noticed brake fluid leaking yesterday (following RTV on Saturday!).
Can anyone recommend a good supplier of calliper repair kits / new callipers and pads, also do I need to replace the disc as it is covered in brake fluid or is there a way to clean it thoroughly?

Not sure about calipers and discs but perhaps double check it is brake fluid.
After an RTV I had diff fluid leak through the hub oil seals and drip down disc and onto the tyre.  Turns out I had knackered a wheel bearing.
Hope you enjoyed the RTV - I missed it deliberately to keep my Disco working for Mud Master next month!
Good luck,
Andrew.

Hi Andrew
Looks like you might be right, fluid does look more like diff fluid (which I only replaced a week ago in prep for the RTV) - the joys !
