My 200TDI Disco gets very hot when towing, not enough to boil but getting close.

I have put a flushing agent through the cooling system and then removed the radiator and flushed it, both ways, and the system through, have also fitted a new thermostat.

Any suggestions as to where next?

provided it is not using any water , change the radiator, i bet there is no core left along the bottom particularly along the back
. similar symtoms will be present if the head gasket is going but i would expect water usage

Not loosing any water, I shall start looking for a radiator.

 Possible the flow rate is inadequate due to a worn or loose impellor in the water pump causing inadequate flow rate, cooling could be sufficient in normal use but not when towing.

Am having the radiator re-cored, I will then pursue other matters, water pump is next on my list.

Radiator re-cored, just done a thousand miles with a heavy horse box on the back and no probs, thanks for the advice.
