heavy steering
« on: April 16, 2015, 03:53:03 PM »
Hi everyone

Could do with advice on my steering. My disco 2 has started to develop heavy steering. I have replaced the track rod and drag links plus new steering damper. The tracking has also been sorted. There is no signs to leeks from the power steering fluid but I'm not sure where to look as it just started  all of a sudden

Would bleeding the system solve it and is it easily done or would it have anything to do with the box

Thanks  Paul

Start simple, there is still fluid in the reservoir isn't there?

Can you get someone to turn the steering lock to lock while at the same time you look inside the reservoir.  If the pump is working you should see and hear some movement of the fluid

Look for dry joints on the steering column, wd40 and let it soak in
