Title: Clutch problems
Post by: Buffalo Bill on February 10, 2019, 10:58:02 PM
My clutch started slipping going to rtv . Clutch disengages about 10mm from top of pedal. And pedal feels hard like no play at all. Any easy fixes??

Thanks Bill

Hi Bill
Hope I am wrong but it sounds like our old friend the clutch fork pivot, if it is it means G/Box out so ,as I say hope I am wrong.

I know I'm going to get pelters for this but what height in the clutch pedal is the correct biting point?  I know mine is knackered as it's 10mm from the top.

Thanks Bill

Hi Bill
Have you tried bleeding etc & possibly re-setting the clearance on the M/Cylinder pushrod, it is possible the clearance is inadequate therefore not allowing the system to re-cuperate fully ie not allowing the fluid to fully return to the reservoir.
Worth checking, easier to adjust same or change a M/cyl. than remove the g/box etc. Good luck.
