-
anyone go at spare engine
??
-
any land rover diesel suttible to fit in a series 2
-
I think it will fit. The 2.5 is a bored out version of the 2.25 block so should be the same fittings? Try it and see ???
-
cheers for the reply so it wont matter if their is not a oil cooler their as iam fitting the 2.25 housing to do away with the cooler ?

I wouldn't have thought so. Shouldn't really need one in this country unless doing really heavy towing for prolonged periods I would think. You could fit a temp gauge for the oil if you want to be sure.

Something alike was discussed on the Yahoo! Answers last week, i can share a link if you want some

I have a 2.5 petrol spare sitting next to a 2.5 td and they look identical except for the fittings for the oil cooler pipes on the td, infact both blocks look identical to me and both use the same oil filter, you are welcome to the filter housing if its what you need, where about are you? im in Fife.
cheers.
Drew.

Just had a look at the 3 engines, you can get blanking plug / plate to cover the holes. the top one is a plug and the lower one is a plate held on with 2 - 10 mm bolts so you can either fit the parts or replace the unit. the spare I have has the blanks fitted.
