Hi everybody
« on: October 22, 2010, 04:49:23 PM »
Hi my name is Chris and I am from Australia. I am currently living in Glasgow and thought I would join up to maybe meet some like minded people to chat to. I am an avid Land Rover fan mostly series 2s but to be honest if its Land Rover appreciate it. At the moment I dont have a vehicle but at home I have 3 land rovers a 58 series 2 88 with the original 2l engine and a 63 2a station wagon with original 2.25 and also a s2a 88 with lots of modifications including an Australian holden 179 cubic inch engine. I wouldn't say I know everything about series 2s but I have worked on lots of them and always managed to get them going again.

Thanks
Chris

Heres a wee story which isn't true  ;)
Neighbours family were over last year from Aus and due to all the import regins they devised aplanto smuggle back some fruit.

For the faint hearted log off now! These guys are seriously desperate!

.
.
.

They ate huge amounts of strawberries prior to there flight. Upon returning home they avoided thhe pan in favour of a plastic bag which was then  frozen :o    (Someting to do with activating seeds, I don't know my fingers aren't green)
Upon there recent trip we were informed that not only are they growing some strawberry plants but tomatoes and some unkown (probably chillies) as well.

Please, Please dont try this at home

Hi Chris and welcome. I was under the impression that Landy's were not the vehicle of choice in Australia with yota's being the vehicle of choice  ;)
I'm sure Jumbo will be along soon to say hi and put me back in my box lol

All the best

Ross

Thanks for the welcome. I start work on Tuesday but I am unsure on how things will go so I am sure i will let you all know.

To be honest a Tojo might be a little more reliable in Australia, but they have no character.

As for working on Landys, I enjoy helping others work on their pride and joy, as its much more fun working with someone, plus it good to have someone to talk to.

So if you are in Glasgow and would like a hand let me know.

Chris
