Title: 1978 Land Rover Series 3 88 2.2 Diesel
Post by: MikeG on April 29, 2021, 12:13:08 PM
Hi All

I have a 1978 Land Rover 88 sitting in the garage gathering dust and am thinking  it might be time to sell it.  It runs fine and is pretty much original. (I did replace  the seats and installed seat belts at some stage. ).

Does anyone have any idea how to value it as it was inherited  and I've owned it for years.

Thanks for all advice.

Hi my advice is to look at selling places such as gumtree eBay other club selling pages to get a rough idear on price , things that help is pics and as much detail about it so folk can see and judge by the info otherwise it up to you to search as could be worth £1000 or £10000 as it’s history , serial is number, are all things original numbers that match, does it run ? V5 condition of chassis bulkhead doors, does it have or had any major work done such as a replacement chassis to galvanised one , has it a over drive there’s money in that alone so have a think on it get pics together and as much info then composite it to others selling there’s see what it matches up to to give you a idear on how much yours is worth plus it will sell at a price someone is willing to pay  but don’t try sell till you get all the info and find a price your willing to have it sold at and don’t be out if with offers or it will need this or that done so it only worth this sort of buyer or it will cost me to get thus running answer hth
