 ???
Strange one this. Just on Tuesday mornign there the " Wee Green fellie" my 2.5 petrol 90 took a funny turn. Basically it got hotter than normal not into the red but id say 3/4. No probs engine running wise. Arrived at work and the hoses were presurised failry badly and expantion tank slightly venting but not pouring water. Worked me day and driving home was fine as per normal sitting steady below 1/2. Wednesday morning same thing. Thursday morning this time toeing a heavy trailer same thing but no worse and on way home with loaded trailer was fine. Does this sound like a waterpump failure or thermo failure to you guys?. Its not loosing water at all and its about the cleanest engine oil ive ever seen still like honey colour and uses none. Pulls well and dont even conk out on me anymore. Starts like a dream. Heaters are nice and toasty. Only happens on me drive to work after thats its back to norm.Confused.

Maybe an air lock in the cooling system? Possible head gasket starting to fail?

Funny mine has been doing the exact same thing (V8)! Think the warmer weather is excentuating a slower stat. Mine is barely a year old and is a LR gen job so should be OK. Will be keeping an eye on it and see if it settles.

Well its settled back to norm for now so ill see what it does. Hope its not the headgasket certanly no sign of oil or water contamination in either seperate areas. Gave it a booting on the backroads and did not overheat at all stayed happily just below 1/2 its norm temp range. Was adviced of a freind it could simply be a bad earth on my temp guage. Cheers anyways guys.
