WAR OF THE ROSES 2017
« on: September 25, 2016, 12:14:01 PM »
You may not of heard of the red rose team but they are an English ARC club that put together war of the roses which is an event with 9 tasks consisting of winching, physical effort and mental strain and some serious nonsense the team require 3 land rovers 1 with a winch and 6 team members. Dave completed 10yrs of war of the roses with the scottish team (you know who you are) and in his opinion is the best organized event all year. Sadly there has been no Scottish team since 2007 so this has to change we sent away for the forums and we are in yeh................So looking for team members we may be allowed a second team if there are lots of people coming forward. (ideal chance to put the ccv drivers up against the rtv driver what do you think??

Cartmel is the perfect beautiful English village (google it have a look)
There is camping at the race course with toilets and showers from the Thursday to the Monday so perfect to take the family google the race course. Lots of cafe, cheese shop, fresh bread shop brew ray and one or two pubs ( am I selling this to you yet)
Lake winder-mere and Kendal are a short drive away plenty to do for everyone :)

War of the roses main event is held on the Sunday but on the Saturday they hold a rtv and ccv and tyro we have had members go to this in the past and pick up the trophy so if do not fancy the sunday event come down and do the rtv or ccv or tyro and support the scottish team on the sunday as there is a shuttle land rover that takes you to and from the race course.

What we would like to see would be a convoy of land rovers heading down on the Friday morning arriving mid day Friday set up the tents/caravans and then heading round to the village for a spot of lunch (beer/wine) which should take us through to the Saturday morning where the rtv/ccv/tyro drivers can take part in the event (anyone else can head of to lake windemere or kendal) meeting up in pub for dinner (beers/wine) then the fun begins on Sunday morning The main event where all will come along to cheer the team(s) along and to finish of Sunday evening after prize giving we will meet in pub to discuss what went wrong over some more beer/wine (what a weekend) Monday morning we all head back home
(Cartmel racecourse is about 150miles from Glasgow but an easy road)

This event is held thursday 13th - monday 17th July
get in touch with Dave/Steph for further details x
