Rock / Tree Sliders for Defender 100"
« on: July 08, 2012, 07:36:39 PM »
I have all the steel sat here ( 40x80x5mm box section and 42x5mm tube ) for making my rock sliders but cant settle on a design for them.

My thoughts are if im making them why not make the best possible deign  :cool

I like the idea of the slider pushing the obstical onto the rear wheel maby not as extreme as this one tho!

or is that asking for problems when trying to reverse?

I all so saw this idea for the box section

any thoughts on ideas? possibly combine the two ideas?

I appreciate the 1st slider - if you've got wide arches then every degree of protection is beneficial - could be possible to angle the trailing edge to allow a 'rub' in reverse to push the car back off the obstacle. just wish I could weld as cool as that eh?
