Recently there has been quite a loud scream coming from the turbo.  It has always made a whistle but this louder scream is new... it comes and goes which is  rather weird.

Does anyone know what is making it make this noise?

Is it bad? and can it be fixed?

Hi does it sound like a metal on metal scream or an air escaping whistle type scream? Does it do it only at specific times, such as under load when the motor is pulling hard?  I'd suggest checking all your hoses to and from both the unit and the intercooler, are they the origional hoses, could be that one of them has a tiny hole due to age?

I think its a metal on metal scream. I did remove the EGR in the summer so the pipe to the intercooler was replaced . I will check the pipes soon.

Well if it sounds like a metal on metal scream then something is wrong inside the turbo itself I'd think, best get it checked out as soon as, It'll not be nice if it does go bang.

Does the car still pull well or does it seem to be down on power at all whilst 'screaming'?

The Landy still pulls and feels the same the screaming stopped today? which was weird owell. shall get it looked at soon tho!

I had the same thing, it only happened at high rpm or at high speed.
