Greasing UJs

Hello people,
I'm planning to grease my UJs because it hasn't been done for a number of months now. I normally let the garage do it, but I thought what's the point, it's not that hard. Is Lithium EP2 suitable for UJs?

I would think so. Most general purpose greases are Lithium based . It is rather an old fashioned grease that so should suit a Landrovers Hardy Spicer.

Always a good ploy to do the uj's just after a run when the joints are warmer. Also park the vehicle on the flat, chock the wheels and release the h/brake. This releases tension on the rear uj's and allows the grease gets all around the joint.
Have fun!

**technically** you want to take the props off, so you can rotate the spiders around as you pump in the grease......

Is that "technically" as in "that's what the manual that says I should replace my O-rings all the time advises" or as in "but most people just do it by lifting a wheel to be able to turn the UK a bit"?
