I've just bought brush paint from Paddocks at ?10.95 per litre, which has turned out well.  You have to do a bit of searching about on their series website though

Hi Terry
 I used to use Tractol paint from some of the motor factors in Inverness, it brushes on easily and was very reasonable. should also be available from some of the tractor dealers near you.
