Post by: sthrifty on May 25, 2010, 08:11:57 PM
On the weekend away at the end of our wee off road run I thought I would do the last 100m in low box, alas no low box the transfer lever is just not engaging feels very free. Was fine last time I used it.

Suggest you remove the floor and check that the levers are still attached to the transfer box! Sounds like one of the clevis pins have gone AWOL, or more anoyingly the splines have stripped.....

Good luck!

does it go back into high range ok?

might be that the lever is not moving far enough to engage into low.

James had a look today and yes the lever has come away from the transfer box, what parts do I need to get this sorted?

Is it just the clevis pin and circlip or will i need a new lock nut.

Its a 110 300tdi 1995.

If anyone can help with whats needed and part numbers be appreciated

Download and install a copy of Microcat that way you can check out part numbers / exploded diagrams etc.  Do a Google for 'Green Oval Downloads'
