will it be any better ? as in willl it be higher geared ?

Yes, it will be higher geared. What engine is pulling it as most people that go this way with a stock series engined motor regret not going the Overdrive route!
Series differential ratio - 4.7:1
'Rover' differential ratio - 3.54:1

fitted to the land rover right now is a dihatsu 2.5 non turbo with plenty power or i might fit my disco 200tdi i also have an overdrive fitted

if you have an overdrive already don't do it or take the overdrive out may be different with the diahatsu my experience is with a transit di and 200tdi

You could keep the overdrive in, you dont have to use it. I like the high ratio diffs especially on longer journeys. They do knock the speedo well out though. If your engine is good enough you can engage the overdrive on the motorway and you will do speeds faster than is safe in a series.
