Title: Help wanted - Disco 3 lowering itself
Post by: DRH on March 22, 2019, 09:09:12 PM
As above my Disco 3 has started lowering itself without warning while driving.

If you switch the ignition off and restart it, it resets right away.

Airbags not losing air overnight.

Any pointers before I start getting in about it.

Thanks Duncan

I had a similar problem years ago, it turned out to be a dodgy earth behind the passenger side tail light, when I selected reverse or put the rear wiper on it fed back through the electrics and lowered the suspension. Try and see if there is a common thing you are doing when it happens

Cheers - there don't seem to be any leaks but it has started displaying a message suspension raising slowly so beinning to wonder if it's something electrical or a comopressor issue.

Have you checked for codes?

Checked tonight and when it happens it keeps coming up with C1A07 - cross articulation too large signal compare failure
sometimes it also comes up with code UO421 Invalid data received from ride height level control module - unexpected operation

Need to get it to my work to get under it to check wiring etc so thinking about pulling the fuse temporarily

When driving, does it “bong” then drop down and put up a yellow suspension light on dash?
If you have an HSE or SE spec with off road system enabled. You can look at all 4 wheel corners on the screen.
If one has a red line at it, generally that’s a faulty one.

Mine had similar codes, turned out to be front left height sensor on the way out.

Bongs and goes right to red (no amber).  On screen the left hand rear turns red with rest staying white but by the time I stop the car everything's down.  Switch off and Start up again and everything builds up again but only goes half a mile before going through it again

All sorted now - thanks to Bobby at GEMM - the n/s/r ride height sensor was faulty and the multiplug was damaged but the system needed recalibrated.

All re-programmed and the car behaving like it should again.
