Title: Appleby Fair
Post by: sthrifty on June 09, 2010, 01:42:41 PM
Sorry missed the tyro but the fair was superb. The 110 did the 300 mile round trip with the caravan no problem, although low box would have been handy up the hill to campsite,no worries there was more horse power available than at a land rover show.

A few landies about mainly jap pickups and a fair few bashed and scratched new rangerovers.

Highly recommend it even if your not horsey.

ps nowt nicked...gunshots on last night a slight worry

No strangely in such intresting company the caravan remained in situ  :) for a change.

Yes we appear to have a half share in a 12mth colt (condition is he is cut) plan is to break him and gives an excuse to go back next year and sell him.

Wendy did say it took longer to get me trained :) and there was no profit in that :o

To be honest when we got back inside of tin tent looked as if a mother and foal had stayed in it,we had 14pps in it one night all with dirty boots.

W spent the whole day getting it clean yesterday its now a wee hilton in tin.

Strange thing 20th pps camping and not a tent in sight

Horses welcome just 2?

I've just managed to get shot of the two that were here, useless picky eaters and vet-magnets that they were. Making space for more cows. More intelligent, more friendly and way less expensive to keep.

Thats not to say I don't like horses. I just think the Belgians have the right idea - lightly grilled, served with a pile of chips and a dod of garlic mayo.  ;D

Dont know about that...i reckon my horse,5 dogs, cockatiel and a budgie are cheaper to keep/run than the flippin Goddess!!! :o :o She's a serious money magnet at the moment ::) Mind you, 3.5 tonne vans rearranging her butt hasnt helped!!!!!
