GRR - 28th October - between Penicuik & Peebles
« on: October 02, 2012, 10:32:20 PM »
Following a gap in the GRR calendar, we've slotted an extra one in on 28th October - not an ideal date but due to landowner restrictions its the only date we could do. Paperwork has been signed off so we're good to go.

This is a new venue for us, primarily on forest roads, suitable for all Land Rovers from Freelanders to Range Rovers - full details in Green Road Run area of Members section

Hope to see you there, Alan

If the planets finally align and a suitable sacrifice can be found, I'll be there too!!

You wouldn't of thought getting a day off from work would be so hard!, think a new job might be in order!!!

Is this GRR still on? I have scoured the website and forum but can't seem to find any more info.

As far as I know it's still on.  Go into the Members section and there's a category dedicated to GRRs.  Details in there.

Might see you there if I can apply my powers of persuasion on the Mrs....

Alan.

Yes, everything's in place for this - details copied from Member's section -
Directions to meeting place - head south from Penicuik on A703 towards Peebles. From Leadburn Junction which is about 2 miles south of Penicuik, after precisely 4.4 miles (or as precise as a L/R speedo gets) turn onto single track road on right, sign on left of main road points to Shiplaw, Lamancha, and there's a noticeboard on right for Scottish Youth Motorcross Club. Drive 0.8 miles up the single track road (care on blind bends) and at small junction turn right, after another half mile turn into gate on right, beside large signs "No Tipping, No Fires". Meeting place is in the Motorcross Club car park. If coming up from south, on A703 from Peebles, about 1 mile after Eddleston village, turn left into single track road and follow directions as above.  There will be orange arrows from A703 turn off.

Sign on is between 10 and 11 = please don't be late as meeting place is not at start of GRR, and you'll be given directions to get to start.
Cost is £10 per vehicle again to cover land access fees. Please bring picnic lunch - there isn't any catering / provisions close by for this one.
Event is strictly members only - must be at least one member in each vehicle - membership forms will be available to join up on the day.

Was up there yesterday, and there's been some timber harvesting so one section of the track is a lot muddier than it was 4 weeks ago - still firm underneath but a lot of squidginess on top!. has opened up more views from the hill though.

Could I get some indication of how many are planning to turn up so I know how many maps to print, thanks, ALan

Looks like I'm not going to make it this weekend due to work! >:(

Hope you all have a fantastic time.

Just a quick question, Yellodisco you said the details are in the members section, I checked there but there was no post with the details. Am I being stupid? wouldn't be the first time  ;D ;D
